Agree that the half hour walking around Costco trial is of limited value. But it’s still worthwhile in terms of initially trying out two or more different aids. But so much more goes into fitting aids, and choosing the proper domes, or waiting on moulds…What I’m trying to say is, one shouldn’t cross off any aid due to a half hour cruise around Costco when they haven’t been properly dialed in with proper domes etc. Plus, the hearing environment in Costco is weird. Very enclosed with a lot of echo and loud constant background noise. Not at all typical for daily living. I suppose it is challenging, so maybe it’s good for that.

I agree with you. While it may not be the best test when you walk around for a half hour, it can reveal a lot in certain circumstances. For me, I compared the 9030s and the Jabras in various noise situations in Costco while talkin g to my soft-spoken wife. To me the 9030s provided much more clarity than the Jabras which is why I went with Philips.
