Oticon Speech in Noise Program - Is it just directional?

I was curious and tried the vented signia connexx domes on my oticon reals. I had 8 mm oticon bass domes on them before. I would say the small (not medium) size of the signia dome corresponds in terms of size to the 8 mm oticon bass dome - they felt ok in my ears - but first time I took them out of my ears, the dome came off the receiver and was stuck in my ear. unfortunately they do not seem to fit properly on the oticon receivers.

Yes, I agree that the small Connexx would probably correspond to the 8mm Oticon dome. I’m told I have the medium Connexx and I wore the 10mm Oticon dome before that, so the medium Connexx probably corresponds to the 10mm Oticon dome.

And yes, they do get stuck in your ear easily if you pull the receiver out quickly. This doesn’t happen every time nor did it happen the first time for me, but once in a while it does happen if you pull out the receiver quick enough, which is annoying. Nothing a little tweezer to pull it out won’t fix, but still, it’s best to pull out the receiver slowly slowly.

I’m now using DSL as my only program on my Oticon Xceed.

I get better noise control with DSL as my fitting formula.

Just got back from the hospital after seeing the audiologist.

This is the note I made about my appointment with my audiologist on Friday

Just a note about the adjustments you made on Friday. Everything sounds so normal now. Sounds are no longer tinny, even the church organ sounds great. I know some would complain about hearing road noise, or the throaty sound of the Jeep engine but it is music to my ears. The church choir sounded great and I could for the most part undersand the lyrics. Everything from peoples voices to the sound of the AC or refrigerator sound right. Now I haven’t been in a loud restaurant and haven’t had a chance to set down with my stepson to see how that goes but I believe it should be better. The TV even without using the TV adapter sounds great even at much lower volume.

The firmware update of my INTENT1 aids has made two notable improvements. The battery life is much better, and the connect clip is a lot more stable and sounds great. Streaming sounds much more natural and not robotic.

On one last note I have even noticed that I am not straining to understand what is said at church, at my Emmaus mens Bible study this morning and even conversations with my wife. I feel so much less stress at the end of the day.

I’m getting on with my new DSL setting. Sound is now strong and not weak even if I don’t hear people very well.

My volume has now changed from 50 to 64 since my last adjustments, which I have no idea why, it has.

Now my default is DSE and I have no other programs, this remote microphone option has disappeared from my app.

I’ll watch carefully.

My Hearing Instrument Specialist fitted ReSound closed vented domes. Not Phonaks

I find them flimsy. The vents are very tiny. They’re high on the dome as close as they can be to the centre hole I have to clean

I put Old Phonak closed domes on. The vents are twice. As big as the ReSound closed domes. I like the sound better. But I had REM with the ReSound.
