I have an interesting update on the topic:
A reply from Oticon official Facebook page:
“The EduMic is made compatible with Roger X because it (along with Oticon’s Amigo) is a very widely used accessory for class room interactions. Therefore, these devices are compatible across brands to ensure that teachers won’t have to use several receivers for hearing impaired students. However, with the Roger Pen and Roger Select the software base RESTRICTS compatibility.”
A reply from UK based company that supples FM hearing systems:
"They are wrong. We supply and have supplied this bundle and it works. If you use an X 02 band it will work with a TSM (Touchscreen mic) AND a Pen or Select. If you use an X 03 band it will work with Pen and Select but NOT TSM.
The EduMic will work with newer Oticon aids including OPN / Ruby etc, everything that no longer works with Streamer Pro. The reason for using an X 02 band is that your hearing professional can load extra gain onto it, Oticon aids tend to be a bit quiet in respect of the Roger audio stream and we found anecdotally that clients needed a bit of a boost, typically +6db but it is variable, some don’t need that much or any at all.
You can adjust the gain with a TSM or your hearing professional / supplier can do that for you.
Good luck with it but it does work, we have supplied with no problems to clients wearing Oticon OPN and OPN S on a number of occasions."
I’m confused now, are the EduMic and Roger Select/Roger Pen compatible or not?
