Older thread, but I’ll add a note anyway.
I use a set of ESP’s which are basically all-in-ear hearing aids for shooters. They are good for a few rifle shots or possibly a few rounds of clays (skeet, etc.)
At the rifle range I wear my electronic earmuffs over the ESPs. If i remove the earmuffs at a bad time, I’m still protected.
When new in 2019, my top of the line verson (they make several) was about $2,200 (IIRC). They worked well enough to use temporarily as back-up aids back then, but word recognition is pretty poor these days.
Still much better than not hearing at all when i need to communicate with a guide and cannot wear my hearing aids.
