Option when replacing one molded Phonak L90 speaker

My dog destroyed the molded speaker of my left Phonak L90 hearing aid. Besides getting a replacement through the audiologist who took the mold, are there any other more affordable but acceptable options? The audiologist’s prices always seem over-the-top (for example, $250 for a charging case that I got on eBay for $50), and I see there are domes and other alternatives, but then I would have a molded right receiver and a dome or other type in the other ear. Not good. Any opinions from the forum? Thanks for your suggestions.

Don’t see a way to edit post, so I will add that the hearing aids are still under warranty, so for $400 I can get a replacement of the entire hearing aid if it is lost. So should replacement of just speaker be less reduced in price?

I don’t see many alternatives. If the receiver mold is based on an ear impression that was sent to Phonak you will need to order the new receiver from the dispensing audiologist or another audiologist who has an account with Phonak in order to use the same impression. If the receiver was not damaged they may be able to use that. I just ordered a replacement cShell and UP receiver for my Infinio Spheres from an online provider for $250. The Lumity receiver is probably less expensive than the newer Infinio receiver.

Phonak does not charge for warranty replacement , $400 service charge is a LOT for the aud. to charge. That is his charge not phonak’s.

Hope your dog is ok!

I’m a dog owner too. Your experience is a good reminder for me

I’d get a price from your Audi instead of guessing. Depending on how long you’ve had it he might actually replace it for free. IF the price is high, you might see if there are options to have a mold made that wouldn’t require replacing the receiver.
