What’s REALLY disappointing is that I, and I suspect MANY others, purchased Oticon products based on their perceived reputation. Part of that reputation was based on their quality and willingness to implement technology to benefit their users. This is a very poor reflection of that kind of perceived quality.
My understanding is that Phonac [sp] HAS hearing aids that DO stream from Android devices. If so, I’ll be even MORE disappointed in Oticon.
In general, at this point I’m really unimpressed and disappointed. Missing this type of deadline to implement capability that affects so many of us, charging to implement the recharge capability on hearing aids that cost what the OPN do… At this point I have the distasteful feeling that IF they do get this working, they’re going to want to extract some additional cash for making it available to people that have now been waiting almost EIGHTEEN months.
And BTW, I asked this question on their Facebook page a LOT of months ago, and I believe I got a response FROM an Oticon person who PROMISED this functionality would be available by Q3 of this year. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to dig up such an old Facebook post or I’d happily splatter it on the Internet.
