Just curious as to whether anyone has had this happen when trying to connect app to aids. I have KS9’s and this "no internet " comes up at different times. I was under the belief that app connected to aids through bluetooth and I don’t know what the internet has to do with anything.

I have KS9 but rarely use app. I have not gotten a “no internet” message while using the app, but I have gotten the message on occasion on the phone screen. Is the “no internet” message interfering with your ability to use the app? The only occasion I can think of where internet would matter is if it were checking for or downloading updates.

This comes up when I do not have internet available and is throuh the phonak app when trying to connect to KS9 aids with my S7 Samsung phone. All I was trying to do was see what sub-autosense program I was in.

Bottom line is I don’t know. I did find this interesting that states that an internet connection is necessary for pairing. However once they’re paired (as opposed to connected) I wouldn’t think it would matter. Phonak Support Community

I also wouldn’t rule out a newer phone working better even though their app compatibility tool shows compatibility. I have always found connectivity to be “glitchy.”

Sounds like the app is trying to do more than just streaming. Do you think something like Location Services relies on the cloud and so the app is requiring internet?

I myself do not think the app has anything to do with streaming, basically just a tool to tweak programs or adjust aids. I also believe the only time the app needs or looks for internet access is for a remote support appointment.

Typically hearing aids and their apps interact via Bluetooth, which I should have called it instead of streaming.

Looking at your screen capture, I suspect that the “no internet connection” warning is coming from the phone itself, not the Phonak app.

I’m getting the same message is it’s from the myphonak app NOT from phone. It’s the first time I have seen this no internet message from the myphonak app. I have no clue why internet is needed. Connecting to the aids by Bluetooth is pretty much too long. Phonak needs to fix on that.
