I would suggest you start with reducing the brightness perception in the sound controls first, because this appears to apply a general high frequency reduction, which might help with your issue.

I did find the original settings in my Genie database and one of the issues in the original program was that the “Soft” gain levels above 5K were quite high (eg CR of 2.3 at 5k compared to 1.3 that I now have), so you might want to focus on that area first. Don’t forget to click the “CR” button to display the compression ratios.

@OldMusicGuy Thanks again. My first run at it seemed to mellow out the music. Very much improved. I’ll let it settle for a fews days and give it another run.

I will echo those thanks as well @OldMusicGuy . . .

I am just starting my programming adventure . . . with the Phillips 9050 . . . but a lot of this is translatable. I have not played with the compression settings yet, so now you have given me more listening to do. I use Focal Solos nearfield.
