mono or stero through Phonak tv connector

For all these things, you just need to follow the path of what’s being output from the source, what can be input to whatever device, what can be finally output.

Adding - use HDMI input port 3 (ARC) according to some reference I found.
Adding more - in the case of your specific tv

Just logged into the settings of my SkyTV box, which have me 3 options:
Standard
Dolby
Dolby Plus

I switched it to Dolby. Sound, from the V1 immediately stopped.

I went into the TVs menu and, as you say, Dolby was selectable, so I selected it. Again no sound to the hearing aids via V1. I plugged in my Roger On, with TV Base unit, and sound came in to the hearing aids BUT, it was a mono feed. Yes, it went to both ears, but not in full stereo.

Back to the set top box, I selected Dolby Plus, then to the TV & Dolby + was greyed out!

So, back to the Set Top box, and set back to Standard, and TV to PCM, and V1 TV Connector, and all good again with a rich full stereo.

Whats this tells me is I’ll have to be careful when choosing a replacement TV. I’ve no idea why the Roger On was in mono. Stereo sound is important to me especially when watching Movies and Concerts.

Seems user WhiteHat got mono solved.

Excellent, could be the same with the TV Connector V1 in Dolby mode.

No, because, as mentioned, the V1 doesn’t do Dolby. As long as your “last mile” is not Dolby then the V1 can work.
