Hello, I’m posting this for my Dad who is having problems with the hearing aid he bought from Costco. We think (but could be wrong) that the model number is KSHA04. Dad seems to think the maker is Siemens, but I found a thread here that suggests his hearing aid is an Onyx 16+. So, two questions:
How can we definitively confirm the model number? I’m not in the same city, so unable to see product or literature.
Having done so, would there be any options to buy him a longer tube? Apparently the saleswoman at Costco told him that Costco only carries the one tube length, but I’m hoping we can source a longer, replacement tube from somewhere.
The KS 4.0 was the only KS model that used a size 13 battery (orange tab), so that would be one way to confirm. Costco should be able to order the proper receiver (tube) for your dad. There are 4 receiver lengths, each in 3 power levels and 2 sides. You would need more information about what your dad is currently using to purchase the correct unit.
Thanks for the reply. After a couple calls to Precise Hearing (I must say, they were very helpful) we’ve confirmed that he has a Rexton Onyx. Unfortunately, he is using 3S tubes, and apparently that is the longest tube length available – are you able to confirm?
Thanks again.
Yes, size 3 is the longest length available. Incidentally, if your dad is interested in purchasing new hearing aids, the KS 7.0 can be fit with a size 4 receiver.
