I don’t think it would be a good idea to use the same brush for both jobs!! Obvious reason of toothpaste dust getting into HA… I use an old (new) TB that I’ve had for years that was too soft to use on my teeth. Perfect for brushing the aids!
Obviously, I was kidding. I like the Jabra hearing aids because of their small size and I got the premium charger. What I don’t like is that streaming music is terrible. And I am leery that they will hold up for three to five years.
A friend of mine just texted me that his one week old Jabra hearing aids both died nearly simultaneously. He has an appointment at Costco for Friday. I’m getting worried that they will not be reliable after my 180 day trial period is over. Should I ask Costco to switch them out for another brand? Or, should I continue wearing them and hope that they last? Any opinions would be welcomed.
It’s up to you, but GN rechargeable battery issues (with Quattro) are a significant reason why we had to insist on a 5 year warranty from them.
I’ve had the Jabra EP20s about a year, and have had them sent back with microphone issues once, and just got back from Costco trying to diagnose a microphone issue. They changed the wire, and…well it’s not worse.
They were popping in and out of working all day yesterday, as I was running around the kitchen cooking and cleaning all day, working up a mild sweat. And it really does seem like sweat is the common denominator in all these problems I see reported.
So…what do y’all do to keep them from dying? “Don’t sweat” or “don’t wear them if you might sweat” isn’t really an option for me, I’m a sweaty dude and I will sweat a little at least most days. Anyone tried eargear or is that as scammy as they seem?
Really, I mean your gonna get worried about a friend texting you this? Doesn’t make sense, lets see what your friend says after his visit, could be anything but for both to “die” at the same time is probably the battery is “dead” or blocked wax filters or some other minor issue, maybe he forgot to take them off in the shower that morning?
I wonder how to find “never auto sleep”?
My friend has been wearing aids for several years and probably didn’t wear them in the shower and he knows how to change the wax filters. I bought the Jabras because they received very good reviews on YouTube. However, some people on this forum have had issues with them. I am also having an issue where in certain environments the hearing aids will turn off and back on momentarily. This happens when there’s a steady background sound such as a waterfall in an atrium. I have an appointment with my hearing aid specialist at Costco on Wednesday. I expect them to last maybe up to five years without any issues.
Settings > battery > background usage limits > never auto sleeping apps
Tap the + sign and go down to “Enhance Pro” and select it. Then tap Add at the bottom.
I also have the GN BeMore and Smart 3D apps in there as well.
Hope it helps.
Okay well I hope they find its nothing serious and a quick fix is on the cards, yes id agree that they should last at least 5 years with good care.
RSW, what are you referring to?
Thank you for directions about auto-sleep settings!
This is a setting on Android phones specifically to the Samsungs “maybe”. It instructs the phone to not “sleep” the GN apps. When that happens you can experience disconnections from the app and the hearing aids. It could be quite annoying at times.
The app can stay running in the background even if you exit the app. If the app then sleeps it can disconnect from the HAs.
This is a workaround for that issue. I used to get lots of disconnects. Maybe it is fixed in the BeMore and Smart 3D apps but I have not removed them to test. It sort of makes sense that they are included. Some apps automatically do this when installed… maybe GN could consider this if they do not have another fix.
Thanks for this RSW… mine wasn’t configured that way. Curious to know in what ways it will improve connectivity. We’ll see.
