Jabra Enhance Pro 20 Now supports Auracast

I hope you’re right. Apple don’t always do what seems to be logical however, Cheers.

Hey. It’s my fear, not my hope. If they did do it, they wouldn’t creep up on it like Android seems to be doing. Have it fully working and integrated into the OS. Promote the hell out of it. Have compatible buds ready to go on day 1.

I could imagine that as Apple’s approach. Something like “We weren’t the first, but ours works!”

Daled: "Where did you find this menu in the Jabra app? I cannot find it.

I am not sure this will help as I don’t use a Pixel but a Samsung 24+…

That menu is NOT in the Enhance Pro app. It is in the Settings menu…

I get to that Auracast menu by going to Accessibility, Hearing Enhancements, Hearing aid support…

As an FYI, The Samsung Buds 2 Pro ‘do’ have working LE Audio in them.

With UI 6.1 the Galaxy S24 and S23 do have a button to listen to Auracast. It is in Bluetooth details settings for the Jabra EP 20s and should be for the ReSound Nexia 9s as well.

Thank for your reply. I’m not sure what you mean by the Settings menu. Perhaps you mean the settings for the phone…If so, I suspect that right now it is a Samsung only feature, as on my Pixel 8 Pro, the only menu item on Accessibility is “Hearing Devices” and none of the sub menus there have anything related to Auracast…At least I now understand better and hope that this might show up in Android 15 (Current release is 14)

On my phone, if you go to the phone’s settings there is a Connections option. Under there is a Bluetooth option. Selecting that takes you to the list of paired devices.

On the right side of my HA listing is another settings wheel. Selecting that takes you to a list of options with Rename Disconnect and Unpair at the bottom.

The list includes a switch for LE Audio, Listen to Auracast Broadcast, Left and Right Hearing Aids (on/off), Adjust Volume Separately and Volume sliders for Left and Right Hearing Aids.

Do you have anything like that? Before the Samsung UI 6.1, I only had the switch for LE Audio.

Yes I believe it is a Samsung feature. Hopefully it will soon extend to other brands…

On my Pixel 8 Pro I have the option for LE audio, but no options for Auracast. What is annoying is the fact that if I select LE audio, it sounds better, but if I answer a call with that enabled, the remote party hears an echo. I’ve discovered that this is truly hands free…it uses the mics in the Jabra hearing aids, but the echo makes it impossible for the remote caller to understand. If I turn off LE this does not happen, but the mic that is used is in the phone and the audio in the hearing aids is not a clear. I’ve discovered that if I turn off either hearing aid and use LE mode the echo goes away and the remote caller hears clearly, but this is hardly practical for day-to-day calls.

Thank you for your feedback. It is an interesting thing you noticed.

I wonder if you turn the volume down, or off/muted, on one of the mics if that would work too? In the app you can do this and even save it as a favorite to switch to.

I guess I am curious if it is more the power off or the volume off that is needed

Perhaps “echo” is the wrong word. Distorted is a better description. And, no, muting one of hearing aids does not help. (in fact if you mute, and then take a call, the mute temporarily goes away and the media control screen pops up in the Enhanced Pro app.) I think that the problem is due to both mics being enabled and there being a very slight timing difference between the audio from each mic, causing the distortion. When you turn one hearing aid off, obviously that mic no long pics up anything.

Ahh, okay, thank you! :slightly_smiling_face:

I do not have the same issue with my. Galaxy S23, I do not think. I have other ones, like no sound some time unless I toggle Bluetooth.

Funny… I just signed on and the first thread I see is exactly what I did in the last week. I got a new Oticon Real Three a week ago and last Friday I bought a new Jabra Enhance Pro 20 from Costco. Oticon will be returned shortly using the 45 day trial. Night and day difference between the two.

Hi and welcome. Can you please explain the night and day differences you notice and what level of loss you have? Im ready to return my Jabra’s but haven’t trialed the others yet. Also, did you trial the Reach aid at Costco along with the Jabra? Streaming is almost impossible with the Jabra’s. Since the last app update my left aid never receives any streaming feed at all. Had 2 receivers go out within the first few months. Aids constantly unpair and or unconnect from app, but stay connected to my car. App no longer works with TV streamer, impossible to pair. Hard to not just stomp on them and be done with the frustration. Never had more frustrating aids.

I am completely deaf in my right ear and only need one hearing aid. I have severe loss in my left ear. I got the Oticon from an audiologist at Kaiser hospital for cheap under my medical plan. It came with a tv streamer which I did like a lot.I had been using the Oticon for close to a week and I kept leaving them in the charger because I really did not like wearing them at all except for the streamer. I then decided to try something different since I have a 45 day full refund allowance. I took my audiogram to Costco and they trial fitted me with the Jabra Pro 20. After a 10 minute walk around Costo I decided to buy them. It was a very easy choice. I never tried another brand but maybe I should have. I was too happy with the Jabra I guess. I now have to take my Oticon back to Kaiser in a few weeks for a full refund.Loved the streamer but hated the hearing aid sound quality. I dont need a streamer now. I can hear the tv clearly and have turned off the subtitles. I may try the Roku hack for $24.00. Supposed to be the shizz.

Thanks for the update. Did you wear aids prior? Justnto clarify, you didnt have the Oticon’s adjusted when unhappy? Tnx again

I got my first hearing aid ( a cross over ) close to 50 years ago. Hardly ever wore it. Hearing aids were horrible back then. All the new tech in the last year or two sparked my interest. I was really disappointed with the Oticon. I was thinking I was done with HA s again but my wife insisted I try again. Happy now about that. No I never tried to have the Oticon adjusted.

Been researching. The S23 phones connect through the Jabra app to provide the enhanced audio, so in developer mode it just shows the SBC codec and no enhanced audio available.
Whether you do get better quality sound streaming is unknown. No specs available to consumers, just marketing, which I totally don’t trust.
Once you pair through the app, go the the Android Bluetooth device list, and click on the settings icon for the HAs. Should be an enhanced sound toggle there.
