What is the EU replaceable battery legislation?

What are the EU’s new rules? Under the legislation, consumers must be able to "easily remove and replace” portable batteries used in devices such as smartphones, tablets, and cameras. This will necessitate a significant redesign. The smartphone replacement rules are part of a broader system of rules.Jun 30, 2023

If this really pass, they will have to change the design

The problem isn’t that the battery is glued in. It’s quite easy to remove. The problem is that the connector was fastened with glue inside. I would be very surprised if there is a way to separate it, at least without knowing what type of glue was used to select a suitable solvent.

If you look at the photos in this document (https://fccid.io/2ACAHAC01/Internal-Photos/Internal-Photos-3615016.pdf), when the ConnectClip was being certified, the connector was ripped off the PCB.

They don’t have to redesign it. They just have to stop using glue on the connector. Aside from the glue, it would be relatively easy to replace the battery.

I think the phone repairer would be able to handle it. Check it out in your area.
