Headphones cause headaches since I wear both aids and glasses. Desperately wish to solve the audio problem with bluetooth (my aids are bluetooth-enabled). Am uncertain whether my Windows 10 computer is currently so equipped. Might need to add bluetooth to the computer??

Anyone with ideas???

If your computer doesn’t have bluetooth inbuilt (check device manager within the control panel), then you can buy a small USB bluetooth adapter - which should cost you around $20 and plug it into your USB port. It may come with a device driver, or if not Windows should find one and update it (once you plug it into the machine). Then just pair to it as normal from your hearing aids. I don’t know where you are, but you should find them on Amazon, Ebay or Radio Shack (U.S):

Thanks, glucas, for the advice and the link! I’ll let you know how this goes in a followup post here.

What make/model of computer?

One more step that may be required that was not mentioned, and that depends on your hearing aids. Most of the brands of aids are not necessarily “Bluetooth” compatible themselves, but require an additional device, the “streamer” to actually pair to the Bluetooth device. My Costco/ReSounds have the Phone Clip+, the Phonak’s have the ComPilot (or similar). This device talks to the Bluetooth of the computer, cell phone, stereo, etc., and then communicates what it receives to the hearing aids via FM or other radio signal. My Costco KS6’s do talk directly via Bluetooth to my iPhone 6 Plus, but I understand that is using an Apple proprietary Bluetooth mode. They do not link directly to my Plantronics Bluetooth dongle for my office phone. I have to use the Phone Clip+ for that.

streamers aren’t that expensive and are made to function with your aids properly, I would recommend those.

Hi, Doc.
My computer is a home brew with an Intel i5 cpu and Windows 10.

That’s an interesting “table” at the bottom of your post, Gery. Is that your sig, or, ???

Seems you would know if you added bt or not… easy enough to add bt hardware.

I’ve got to agree with Doc here.

Go into Device Manager and see if you have Bluetooth listed.

yes that’s my sig.

You have received very good accurate advice. I have the Rexton Trax 42 with SmartConnect dongle I wear around the neck. I have my notebook bluetooth connected and my IPhone. I also sometimes have my IPad connected but the Smart Connect is limited to two devices at any one time so I have either to turn off the blue tooth radio in the notebook of the IPad whichever is not in need of my HA’s. Works great and by turning off the microphones in the HA’s the source I am listening to is clear.
