Personally, I think this seems more like an advertisement than an article. It is completely biased in favor of purchasing hearing aids online, which is not surprising since the author owns an online hearing aid sales company.

I also take issue with the comment that it is often ‘even easier’ than buying in person. How can that possibly be true? If a patient comes into my office I spend a couple of hours with them, test them, let them listen to real hearing aids, and then discuss with them what they would like to wear. Once they decide on their hearing aids, we take impressions and call them once their aid has arrived. In the case of some open fit models we can actually fit them the same day, and they leave my office with their new hearing aids. I’d love to see an explanation as to how it could be any easier for them to shop online without the guidance of an expert sitting next to them able to render a professional opinion and answer any and all questions in real time.

I accept they may save some money up front in the purchase costs, but this ‘article’ is claiming it is easier as opposed to cheaper. I also question if an online patient will ever receive the free quality life time adjustments and service that my patients enjoy.
