Hearing test acronyms

#1

Can someone explain to me what the MCL, UCL, and LDL acronyms are on the audiogram.
I was just looking at my past hearing test and I noticed these were not listed on the audiogram.
On all my old hearing test from the past, they were.
I don’t know what these stand for and how they relate to my hearing and possible programing of the hearing aids.
Maybe my hearing is such, that it doesn’t matter ? Don’t know.
Just curious.

I don’t know what the other are but UCL is uncomfortable loudness.

Most Comfortable Level (MCL) – This is the speech level identified by the patient as the most clear and comfortable.

LDL is Loudness Discomfort Level. It uses pulsed tones whereas MCL and UCL use recorded speech. Google is your friend for this kind of stuff. Combine whatever you’re trying to look up with “audiology” and you’ll likely get your answer.
