Software based? So your hearing aids got bricked by Target 8, and the bricking has nothing to do with iCubeII? Really?

Wait a minute? Shouldn’t everyone try putting a stop to this software based bricking of hearing aids by reverting back to Target 6.2? Whoa, wait another minute? I don’t think that Target 6.2 can program Paradise hearing aids. What can we do?

My logic that I just stated is Silly, huh? Your logic is too. Because you are leaving out the hearing aid bricking event, in order to make an equally silly point that it’s software based.

Read again and then you may understand.

How can it be an iCube II issue when the same happens to Marvels and NL Wireless?!

Like I said before, I was talking about the Marvels. Mentioned nothing to do with Paradise.

The audiologist was only helping me with my V70 and M70!

Are you saying that Target 8 (using Noahlink Wireless) can brick your hearing aids? Of, course not! You are ignoring the bricking event to bolster your argument.

Dear Readers; Move on. Nothing to see here. That is, until your hearing aids get bricked by a going-obsolete proprietary hearing aid programming device, namely iCubeII.

No I’m just passing on information from an audiologist of nearly 40 years!!!

He’s more likely to be correct than a user like you! I realise you have a lot of info but come on, 40 years of experience!!

You’re the only one who’s not understanding this situation!!

Honestly your so out of touch on so much regarding nothing you actually know about, you, with the experience of programming 1 or 2 sets of HAs in you life, Oticon at that! you’ve never used anything else, you have no “experience” at all to make any of the clams you do, your a "book reader "you can brick HAs with a Noahlink wireless (and you can brick a Noahlink wireless) and a HiPro for that matter, using any software from any HA manufacturer when you don’t do things right, honestly I just wish the mods here would just “ban you again” god only knows why they allowed you to come back!

Please answer the question! It’s a simple question.
How did the hearing aid get bricked?

Specifically, which version of Phonak Target and which wireless hearing aid programming programming device was in use when the hearing aid got bricked?

Let me guess; It was the latest version Target 8.0.3 and Phonak’s propriotary wireless hearing aid programming device (iCubeII), right? And, even though Target 8.0.3 has the ability to to use the “Reset to factory settings” it would not work to UN-BRICK the hearing aid.

The solution from Zebra’s learned Audi (or more likely as a result of the Audi’s convo with Phonak technical support) was to revert to Target 6.2 and use the “Reset to factory settings” tool from this older version to UN-BRICK the hearing aid.

Com’on, you can answer the simple question about how the hearing aid got bricked. No need to resort to name calling and Ban requests. Future events will flush this out anyway. So why not discuss it now?

It’s already been discussed, and the solution, but as usual your not getting it, so now, who really cares/knows for sure what actually happened, but @Zebras got a good outcome to a very stressful situation, end of story.
“Quoted from someone else”
But you always seem to be putting contentious words in people’s mouths, as if you’re looking to entrap someone so you can engage?

A true Jekyll and Hyde character if I’ve ever met one, your right about one thing tho,I shouldn’t have called you names!

More obfuscation is not the solution. Hearing aids are getting bricked. Why?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Solution? That’s not a solution. That’s a workaround. Will future Phonak Target versions fix the problem and not brick hearing aids. Or maybe remove iCubeII as a programming device?

Luwak is an Asian Civet cat. Due to internal enzymes, the taste of fermented coffee is bitter. We even have Elephant coffee in Thailand. Hope you guys come to Asia for holidays ( extra batteries) - Sun, Sand & Sea…HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Yes, you can try using Phonak 7.0.7 (like the airplane). Though, we don’t actually know which combination of (Target fitting software & iCubeII) is best for avoiding the bricking of your hearing aids. We only know which combination (Target 6.2 & iCubeII) was successful in performing a factory reset/A.K.A unbricking the hearing aids.

My relatively new ( 2 yrs on the job) audiologist just Bricked my HA’s while upping the volume- they were working great until powered off - now they wont restart. Assuming this is the typical 8.x/iCube issue - can someone lead me to a 6.2 target … I’m pretty sure she won’t have one handy and would just love to circumvent her learning period by providing her with one as opposed to looking for a more experienced aud.

@Craig_L

I don’t have the appropriate software anymore but trying to factory reset them also worked for me. Obviously doing it one at a time. This can be done via the software.
