Is Signia Connexx software compatible with Horizon HA’s? Are the Horizon’s locked?

No i doubt it, Horizon is an oddball version so it’s most likely they are locked, but maybe just software locked, as in getting the correct version of software gets you in to program without a code.

If I purchase a pair of your Horizon hearing aids, is it possible to program them with standard Connexx software? Are they locked? Asking as while I know you do virtual fittings after purchase, I am tech savvy and am capable of fine tuning on my own.

Hello,

While the Connexx software is not commonly used on personal devices/ given to customers, it is not locked. If you purchase a pair of our Horizon hearing aids, we would still encourage you to be fit and have adjustments made by one of our providers.

If you have any more questions, please feel free to reach out to us.

All the best! -Sami, Customer Success Team

Are you saying that you are a hearing aid manufacturer? Or does an existing manufacturer make hearing aids for you to your specifications? What technology do you use which is “the newest in hearing aid technology”?

Hello Billgem,

Thank you for your inquiry! Our Horizon hearing aids are manufactured by Signia, one of the leading manufacturers in hearing care. We have developed this hearing aid to be the latest in hearing aid technology by offering a unique dual-processor approach for our AX platform of devices that assists with processing speech and noise in harder environments.
If you would like to learn more, please do not hesitate to reach out to us!

Thats not true, it was "developed " and designed by WS Audiology, you guys don’t make or design anything in this regard, nice HAs tho.

Hello,

Thank you for your response. Please know that hear.com is part of the WSA family. Our Horizon hearing aids have some additional features that are only available with the Horizon product line. This was actually co-developed by hear.com and WSA engineers. If you would like to learn more about our Horizon hearing aids, please visit our website. I have included the link below.

As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to us!

I meant which “additional features” do they have that no one else has, that’s interesting.

The Horizon hearing aids are made by WS Audiology and are very similar to the latest line of Signia hearing aids. Signia’s AX platform, which uses dual processor technology and which these Horizon hearing aids use, and does represent something which no other hearing aids are using AFAIK. Doctor Cliff called this innovation potentially “a game changer” in the hearing aid industry. But their top of the line hearing aids don’t come cheap.According to their website, they cost $199 a month for 36 months. That’s almost $7200 per pair.

Signia has also been a leader in reducing the size of hearing aids in the last few years. I think it’s got something to do wit their battery technology (?) so that the hearing aid doesn’t need to be as big. The tiny Horizon Mini X in particular benefits from this so that it can fit into the canal and be almost invisible.

The Horizon hearing aids are duplicates of what appear to be identical Signia hearing aids? I have no idea if this resulted as a collaboration between Horizon and WSA as claimed or not. But it doesn’t really matter because as far as I can tell Hear, com is in fact one of the brands within WS Audiology, so they’re all the same thing.

As you posted here, I just wanted to share my experience filling out the online questionnaire that I got (from a link in an online news website). I was intrigued - not just the 45-day free trial, but I wondered if there was any model out there to compare with the Phonak Lumity Life aids I ended up buying last summer. I’m happy with these, but ALWAYS on the lookout for the next best thing in terms of hearing better, or other features.

I bailed halfway through the questionnaire cuz the questions were too one-dimensional: e.g., “In what type of hearing situations do you experience difficulties?” Truth is, several on that list, but I only got to pick ONE. That bugged me. Then I got another question, “Why are you looking for new hearing aids?” Again, I wanted to select SEVERAL on the list, but could only pick one. That’s when I bailed.

I just figured that the answers accepted would bias who I’d be sent to in my area. Maybe revise your online questionnaire?

I did a lot of online research to review and select an audi in my area when I relocated here 1.5 yrs ago. I’m SUPER happy with her, so I’d also wonder what the qualifications were of the clinic I’d be sent to if I completed the online form.

Well, perhaps I’m not your ideal prospective customer … but I read a lot about hear.com and would’ve been open to pursuing the link if the questionnaire did a better job of capturing my real needs. Thanks for coming to the forum here, cuz I LOVE it when a company reaches out to us here. We are YOUR target market.

I just clicked on the link and see the usual features: “nearly invisible”, “connected to all devices”, “unrivaled speech clarity” and “rechargeable”. There appear to be two models: Horizon Go AX (very visible BTE) and Horizon Mini X (the tiny one).

Hello,

We appreciate your feedback as we are always looking for ways to improve our services. However, the questionnaire is just a general base to get you started before speaking with one of our consultants. The answers you select do not predetermine what provider you will be sent to. Once the questionnaire is completed, one of our consultants will reach out to you to learn more about your experience with hearing loss, why you are interested in new hearing aids, etc. After your hearing evaluation and are fitted with the devices, your 45-day trial begins.
Also, please know that we vet all of our contracted partner providers and send you to the nearest one to your location. We also offer Teleaudiology services should you prefer virtual and remote appointments or if there is not a provider in your area.
If you are still interested in learning more about our Horizon hearing aids, I would encourage you to complete the questionnaire or reach out to us directly.

All the best,
Customer Success Team
