HA in Battle

Watching the interview of the commander of our Afghanistan troops, I noticed he was wearing hearing aids – RIC. FWIW

Tinnitus and hearing loss are the number one and two health conditions, respectively, among military veterans at U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) medical centers.

Paying an average of $348.15 each, the VA buys one in five hearing aids sold annually in the U.S., according to that 2010 spending report, the last year that data was available.

That was from the link/report. It has been reported here before but a repeat never hurts

I don’t think he is wearing hearing aid. He is using a smart earplug hearing protectors that resemble pair of earbuds with some built-in electronics. He can hear soft sounds and blocks very loud sounds like bombs.

No, I saw the wire running down the side of his ear.

I haven’t seen the video. Ok.

Check my history. I was issued hearing aids while still in the AF. Not that unusual.

Really? I didn’t think active members of the armed forces can wear HAs.
