GN Hearing Launches the Most Intuitive and Personalized Hearing Solution That Adapts to the User’s Daily Life

This innovative breakthrough technology employs GN’s artificial intelligence (AI) solution in tandem with Apple’s Siri virtual assistant. The announcement was made at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2019 in Las Vegas, the world’s largest and most influential technology event.

This new offering follows years of investment in GN’s dedicated inhouse AI research center, investments in AudEERING and extensive collaboration with other partners and academic research institutes. I already hear sounds in my head (tinnitus) that others do not hear.

Hearing aids are not supposed to add to that! :fearful::rage::sob:

Well, I looked at the GN weblink. What the new feature appears to allow at the moment is:

  1. A new way to change programs using Siri (which is certainly not discrete).
  2. A way for your aids to suggest a manual program change via phone notification.

I see this as a small / incremental step forward with limited immediate value (I don’t need my phone to tell me that I am in a restaurant). I suppose bigger things can be around the corner. This probably does further open the door to more quickly allow for a de-featured version of the Quattro to be made available via Costco before too long - and I presume this feature will not be included there.

I always love press releases that say a lot but say nothing at all. . .What is this really about other than saying the phrase-of-the-day among hearing brands (and nearly everyone else right now) - “artificial intelligence”. ReSound is late to this party; hence, the need to say something/anything to be competitive. . .
