I have a p8p and it works great with the phonak spheres. It worked great with the lumity as well. I’m on android 16 beta now and it still works well. My wife has a samsung s25ultra. It is not any faster than my pixel and it almost 2 years newer. it is the only samsung phone on android 15. they stay behind the pixel phones by a pretty good margin. I wouldn’t consider trading my pixel for a samsung even if they paid me.
Avoid Samsung. The new, S24 explicitly does not fully support the latest Resound app. The S23 did, and the S25 will, but not the S24. Samsung does not make full support of hearing aids a top priority. It is hit-and-miss… most miss.
In what way? What’s not working in the App, Sammy does a great job as does the Pixel.
I have struggled for over a year with galaxy and Jabra Bluetooth pairing issues. The fundamental issue is that the both the Hearing Aids’ and the phone’s Bluetooth software/firmware engineers have been struggling with a new generation of low energy Bluetooth protocols. The bluetooth engineers for the cell phones are finally starting to work through the problems and the firmware for some of the Hearing Aids is still being upgraded. Samsung’s Galaxy lineup just started rolling out its newest android version of the operating system One UI 7 this month with the S25 lineup. I am led to believe this rollout will work its way back at least three generations of phones over the next couple of months. So the good news is that for new phones like the S25, I can report acceptable results with the Jabra Enhance Pro 20 (similar to Resond nexia 9). I would still expect reports of problematic experiences until the One UI 7 is fully rolled out.
@Raudrive I now have the S23 but I am needing a larger screen which pixel would you suggest.
The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold and then the Pixel 9 Pro XL.
I’m the same no connection issues at all. Handsfree works as you would expect. Intents and galaxy s23 ultra
False, as already mentioned, and Pixels are know to get updates sooner and more often than others, since both the hardware and software come directly from Google.
I used my Starkey Genesis with a Pixel 6, and recently switch to a Pixel 9, due to an unfortunate encounter with the pavement. and the hearing aids work fine with both. They connect reliably and stay connected. YMMV, but Pixel works for me.
Yeah, I was incorrect before but also regarding Samsung phones, which are eligible to 6 major updates, and not just 4.
I have been totally satisfied with the Pixle phones which have a very clean operating system without the bloatware that accompanied samsung. Presently Samsung is still running Android 14, and my Pixel 8 is just a few months from getting Android 16.
I started with the Pixle 4a, then 4a-5g, and presently running a Pixle 8, which is connected to my Phonak Marvel hearing aids. No issues at all.
All the bloatware in Samsung products just take up storage, and slow down boot time and overall operation.
I would pass on my older Pixles to my wife, but I now have her on a Pixle 8 too. She’s not a tech person, but has had zero issues with it.
I really like getting security & other fixes every month, & new features very quarter.
I made the jump from my Pixel 4a to a new Pixel 9 yesterday, and so far my Rexton Reaches have stayed rock solid on Hearing Aids instead of flipping over to Speaker on incoming and outgoing calls. So far so good, and the phone is now installing a newer system update. I will report back further if that affects anything good or bad relevant to my hearing aids.
Probably the March security update. Pixels get one a month.
Update: Just wanted to add that, after more time getting other parts of it set up, I am very very happy with this phone, including the way my third party apps like 1Password can be integrated into its use, despite the fact the Google now includes similar competing products of their own.
Le is low energy bluetooth, which is what ASHA uses for streaming phone calls, and audio to your aids.
HAP is the Bluetooth LE Audio standard which allows full hands-free calls, and much higher resolution audio streaming using the LC3 codec. It also supports Auracast.
Unfortunately, the current line of budget phones, like the samsung A series will not support LEA, but I think by next year it will be mandated for all phones to use it.
Idk which phones in Croatia support LEA other than Samsung S23-S25 or Pixel 7 to Pixel 9.
