Pretty much just as the title says. How would one know without making a trip to their audiologist?
I’m asking because with the current pending iOS 13 release right around the corner how would someone know if their aids have any firmware updates? iOS 13 is still in beta, and a nightmare on certain things too, they’re currently on iOS 13.1 beta, yes that’s correct, 13.1 and it’s not even a public release yet. I’m a certified beta tester.
This morning the myControl app for my charge and go 7Nx aids was updated because it’s buggy with iOS 13 betas.
If Signia does a firmware update to my aids how would I know since ota updates aren’t possible with my aids.

The same as my Audi told me I have to check in with my Audi, and I was also told that he would not be notifying anyone about updates because he really doesn’t know until he connects the aids to the computer fitting software.

I am not sure this is totally true. When Phonak Target is loaded across the bottom of the screen are icons. One of them is Updates and it will have an exclamation mark on it if any updates are available. These updates could be about anything including your aids. Along with these updates are explanations of what the update is about and what aids are involved. So, maybe he does know.

With Genie 2 (oticon) you can only tell if the HA is connected (according to my audi)

With ReSound Quattro’s, the smartphone Smart 3D app will tell you when you go to the My ReSound tab. You have to be connected to the Internet (and your HA’s) before you launch the app for the updating function to properly check. Strangely enough, my left and right Quattro’s are running on different firmware updates (left: 10037.37 and right: 10040.40) and the app tells me both Quattro’s are up-to-date!?

BTW, there is a NEW ReSound remote connection agreement that is required through the app. Didn’t read it in detail - very similar to old one. Two part agreement that requires you to agree to the collection of certain information about your hearing aid and its usage in order to have remote updating and Remote Assist enabled.
