Finding the magic

Finally threw in the proverbial towel and began wearing hearing aids three days ago. I have the standard high frequency loss 70 year old hearing (steep drop off at 2k, 65 and 75 db correction. (Will get professional audio test in several weeks)
I am an home stereo audiophile. Over recent year began questioning my stereo system, swapped out components, speakers only to realize it was my hearing that was causing Stevie Nicks voice to not sound nice.
I purchased a used pair of Opticom Real 1 HA’s, did a self audio test, programmed the Real’s and thoroughly enjoy wearing them. Can watch tv without CC, don’t have to constantly say “what”. Wear them constantly, they are great. Sound natural…well except that I have forgotten what so many things sound like. When I first stepped outside, sounded like a jungle with all of the birds singing, surreal. I added a custom music program to them following a music loving users suggestions and the sound of my stereo improved dramatically. Except for one area, the deep immersive soundstage that I am a groupie for.
I got to find a way back to that “magic”. I have coming in the mail a pair of Widex More 440’s ric’s. My hope is their miniscule sound delay 0 .5 ms compared to the Real’s 8.0 ms will bring back the magic. I have read various reports of other users commending Widex on the musical sound.
Question is, has anyone else experienced deep soundstage off of recorded music with these Ha’s?
Any other recommendations or suggestions for finding the “magic”?
My stereo has produces amazing tube based soundstage. Just need to find a way to tap back into it.
Edit…I wear open cones, maximizing sound coming in from the surrounding environment.

As a fellow audiophile approaching 70, I can relate to the missing magic. I currently use Jabra Enhance Pro 20s from Costco but am considering switching to the Jabra EP30s or the Rextons or Philips to see if I can get closer to what I experienced in my better hearing days.

Perhaps Widex’s miniscule latency will deliver the goods. If so, please update with your thoughts. If I am still left wanting after switching to another model or brand, I will go the DIY route (which is often recommended here). Also recommended here is posting your audiogram, which may improve suggestions for rediscovering the magic. Good luck!

In my attempt to create a new post I inadvertently reposted the “Magic” topic, but glad I did got your reply. I actually did obtain, program and am wearing the Widex 440’s and they have totally solved my “Magic” issue. Music sounds just amazing. I wish you the best on your hearing journey, as everyone suggests, try out those ideas you have before committing. The “Magic” can still be rediscovered.
