I am somewhat skeptical. As mentioned in the article, the design uses BLE, a low power protocol. I can see it working for something that has a low power requirement such as a hearing aid but not much more. However, I am not convinced that the solution is better than zinc/air batteries. Batteries are very low cost when purchased online and don’t require a device that is plugged in even if it is 15 feet away. I travel a fair amount and that would be one more gadget I would have to keep track of. I can buy batteries anywhere and they last a week, give or take.
For me, it would be overkill. I just don’t see a need rechargeable HAs.
