I tried the Infinio Sphere and did not find it significantly better than my NHS aids which, like yours, have tubes. But unlike your NHS aids, mine do have Bluetooth for phone calls and streaming. So I returned the spheres. But I am still hopeful that with the right audiologist, the Spheres might make a significant difference for me in group situations. So I begin a new trial on Tuesday but working with a different audiologist. Will report back.
It would be interesting to see the audiogram of people saying they can’t tell the difference. I’ve got a pretty steep curve of loss and I find it hard to discern any difference between the programs on my KS10’s (basically Marvels) and even between the different high end hearing aids I have trialled from various manufacturers supplied by an apparently top audiologist) .
I think that the online audiologist who is helping me remotely would take exception to me - a rookie - messing with adjustemnts normally reserved for professional audiologists.
I concur. Although I’m disappointed with the result so far, the ability to take/send calls and stream my TV sound is a good enough reason to keep my Phonak HAs, and in the hope I will get there eventually. The problem mainly comes because my audiologist meetings are time-limited and remote, so success is not guaranteed (despite her excellent support).
Yeah not surprising if your audiologist hasn’t taken the time to adjust each program to your liking, but wait… that would take them a bit it time when they could be selling HAs to someone else, getting the right fit up in each program is time sensitive for most clinics, if you DIY this would be far easier to achieve.
Yeah actually most clinics don’t like people doing this, but look, your Audiologist works for you and these are your HAs, so you can sit back and take it or do something about it, a DIY project would work if your interested, I mean your doing “remote support” for your set up anyway, you could do better yourself and it’s not like you ever have to mention to anyone that you’ve done this?
I believe my audiologist would see that somebody has been tampering with the settings, which would damage our relationship. It’s best if I give my audiologist some more time to get it right, and if that fails, I can look at DIY.
Oh yeah absolutely they will know, just by the time stamp difference, sure give them as much as you’ll willing to tolerate, we have a great DIY forum here on hearingtracker so anytime your ready.
KS9’s are basically Marvel’s. The KS10’s ARE “basically as you say” Paradise P90’s

With my hearing loss, I can’t use power domes. Too much sound leaks out. If you want a quick and dirty test, plug your fingers into your ears over top of your power domes and seal off your ear canals. That will give you some idea of what solid ear molds would sound like.
Maybe ask your audiologist about DIY? I asked mine and he was very positive and said that he would help me with the software.
