Thank you Raudrive, I am much obliged :smile: I did as always do a search on the internet, but obviously I never put in the correct wording, and I never saw that article… Perhaps my legacy from dyslexia? Last night on the Forum, someone put a post up about loosing a filter in their ear, which I assume would be quite worrying! Anyway, when I first read the post I saw “fitter instead of filter” in the headline, which sent me down a different and entirely wrong train of thought :rofl: :rofl: :rofl: their opening line had me really going, something like “That’s twice it’s happened” and all along I am saying to myself, why would a “fitter” disappear twice after taking your hearing aid out… The joys of dyslexia :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:

We tend to use double wall tubing with severe+ losses because driving 120dB down normal tubing causes it to pulse and radiate sound back to the mic.

It’s just another step towards reducing feedback, like better sealing soft moulds etc.

For more profound losses there’s triple wall too, but that’s a bit chunkier and sometimes too difficult to form properly.

Yeah SpudGunner, some of us in the UK do enjoy St Patrick’s day… All depends if your a Celt or not, Celts were mainly from Ireland, Wales, Scotland and Cornwall, and to this day there is a bond. Cheers Kev :smile:

Thank you Jim, for the kind words :wink: I enjoy a bit of craic as the Irish call it, life is way too short for it not to be fun, work becomes very mundane and tedious if there is no laughter and humour in and around the workplace or indeed the home… One thing I did learn about winding people up, and it was a valuable insight into human nature, when someone takes you seriously and your teasing is taken way out of context, look out!!! I have had a couple of broken noses, from people whom I regarded as friends, twas a simple lesson and in some respects a test of friendship… You can say absolutely anything to anyone if they like you lots, you can call them the worst names under the sun, and they will just laugh it off :joy: :joy: :joy: But if they dislike you, they will be straight down your throat at the earliest opportunity, or in my case they stuck the head on me and broke my nose :joy: :joy: :joy: probably thoroughly deserved I may add, for the words uttered :joy: :upside_down_face: :sweat_smile: Cheers Kev.

@Raudrive: Rick, thank you for posting those articles. There was one about music preferences that I found informative and helpful.

Speaking to Kev’s mention of the post in this forum about disappearing filters, @dghundt suggested pulling the outer ear up and back to open the ear canal to inspection.

I have trouble seating my left mould as securely as my right mould … just for fun, I pulled up and back on my pinna, inserted the mould, and - Wah-Là - a much tighter fit.

So I ask you who may know the answer:
Is there a knack to seating RITE ear moulds correctly?
