Damped ear hooks

What is the advantage in setting up a hearing aid with high gain and then fitting an earhook with a damper in it? I don’t really understand.

Thanks.

To flatten tube acoustic resonances.

For way too much info, see PDF: http://www.etymotic.com/publications/erl-0048-2003.pdf

That reminds me of my Microwave guide training when I was in the service.

Yep.

The similarities noticed between different fields such as electronics, fluidics etc are called ‘dualities’.

These can be useful : a fix to say a hydraulic problem may lead to a fix in say a parallel electronics problems.

For example: gravity wave sensors are tapered as a result of someone seeing a tapered radio antenna.
