I was wondering if a CROS hearing aid could be used in someone whose good ear still has a hearing loss. What I’ve read is that CROS is for people who have single sided deafness and one good ear with normal hearing but my audiologist implied today that it can also be used with someone who is deaf or nearly deaf on one side but hearing impaired on the other. Thanks for input. :o
Yes, a CROS system can be used when the better ear has aidable hearing loss. It’s called BiCROS in that case.
Trying to find on here a comparison between Siemen (Signia) CROS v Phonak CROS. Anyone seen such a comparison on here? Or know something about it yourself
Yes, it can be used. All it does is add microphones to your bad side, it does not help with sound locating, stereo hearing, noise discrimination, etc… I never went this direction, too much money for too little benefit in my eyes.
