Cracking, ringing, pulsating ear

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum so I hope this is the right place to post the following.

A little over a year and a half ago I felt that my ear bothered me. There were really no symptoms, something just didn’t feel right.

Starting last September I began experiencing the following symptoms in my ear:
cracking (by opening my jaw), pulsating (especially when I lay down/sleep), and ringing in my ears (most notable when I slept). Also, I always feel the need to equalize the pressure in my ear by holding my nose and blowing; then my ears open, but close directly after.

I went to 2 different doctors and they prescribed a nose-spray (flixonase), this did not do anything for me.

A few weeks ago I went to a specialist and he measured the pressure in my ears and said that the pressure is normal. He then told me to get an audiogram, which I should get in a few weeks. Do you think this will help?

I have been researching and think I might have ‘Eustachian Tube Dysfunction’
or ‘Tinnitus’, but I think the former from my symptoms.

Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be, I’m only 20 years old and it’s affecting my way of life. My ears constantly bother me, and if I ever listen to my mp3 player, even at a soft volume, my ears bother me quite a bit the next day (I feel that they are very clogged)

Could it be a fluid build up? I do have a history of ear infections when I was young.

Also, sometimes I can hear my self breathing/talking in my head (as if talking in a barrell) when I equalize the pressure.

Thank you so much.

I am not a medical doctor, yet it sounds like a Eustachian tube problem.

I would advise you to see a reputable ENT doctor to have him/her further look into this, as there are often very simple ways of correcting this problem.
