Costco Sennheiser Sonite R

These have just newly appeared at my local Costco stores

revolutionary? but these are just rebranded Lumity platform right.

Somebody posted a detailed functional description of both plus the KS10, I apologize to the poster for not being able to properly attribute this comparison to them.

The differences are pretty minor, but according to the functional comparison the Sennheiser is not quite a Lumity level yet. The Sennheiser and KS 10 have Speech Manager while the Lumity 90 has SpeecSensor. The Sennheiser and KS10 do not use ActiveVent receivers while the Lumity does and the Sennheiser and KS10 have HiFrequency Protect +, while the Lumitys have SoundRecover2, the Sennheiser and KS10 have Narrow Speech Focus 2.0 while the Lumity has SteroZoom 2.0 The Lumity have RogerDirect while the Sennheiser and KS10 have Costco Accessory. I know for a fact that the KS9 works with a RogerON so how much of these function differences are real and how many are just marketing jargon is open to question. As minor as the differences may be it appears that the Sennheiser is more KS10 than Lumity.

Sorry those are just name changes for things that do the same things, as for AV I don’t see that as much of a difference, no I think that it’s the Lumity and nothing new or revolutionary in the Sennheiser at all, but as usual just my opinion, I’d recommend everyone wait until Costco offers the Sennheiser sphere models which will be just another rebranded Infinio.

Yep, but I would guess the upgrade will be to the Infinio R rather than the Sphere. Similar to the Oticon’s offering of the Philips 9050 rather than the Intent. But I am usually wrong

Yeah it’s possible they’ll scrimp and not offer anything mean full, they (Phonak) didn’t do this with KS9 or KS10 so I guess anything is possible.

that doesn’t seem likely any time soon, given they are just coming in with a new product.

Called Phonak today and asked if Sennheiser Sonite R was compatible with Roger Direct. She said yes if Costco installed the receivers. I wasn’t convinced she really understood how Roger Direct worked. I kept using Roger Direct and iN but she avoided the terms and just said they need the receivers. I suspect I’ll need to wait to wait until I get to Costco to confirm by looking at Target fitting software. I guess it’s at least somewhat hopeful.

With my Sonites in the package was a TV connector.

Nice! That is an unexpected bonus.

I have a pair of Phonak Brio 4 aids that I purchased at Costco - 3 years ago. Costco no longer carries Phonak aids, but now I see that they are selling Sennheiser Sonite R aids. They are made in Switzerland and both Phonak and Sennheiser are parts of the Sonova Holding AG. My local Costco has just started to sell the Sennheiser aids. I plan to buy a pair but I have a 3 week wait to get a new hearing test first. My Costco agent told me that my current Phonak PartnerMic will work with the new aids - and I see that the Easy Line Remote is part of the Sennheiser program. I have a question for a new user of the Sennheiser aids - and it concerns Bluetooth connections. I purchased a Phonak TV connector and I used it to stream audio from my home theater receiver to my Phonak Aids. It was a kind of “direct” link. My Phonak aids would not connect to other Bluetooth sources. The new Sennheiser aids info says: “Sennheiser hearing aids support Bluetooth classic, the Hands Free Profile (HFP) and the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) and therefore support listening to audiobooks, music, or videos and making hands free phone calls.” Does that mean that if I have an AV receiver in my home theater with a Bluetooth audio output that I will be able to pair my aids directly - without using the TV Connector ??? Can some new Sennheiser user do that test for me ??? Thanks in advance

Don’t have the Sennheisers (yet) but have KS9 with similar Bluetooth. Should be able to connect directly to Bluetooth TV but just about everybody I’ve heard from prefers the TV connect because of latency.

You’ll be fine to use any Phonak accessory with these Sennheiser, as they are rebranded Phonak Lumity models, and as mentioned the TV streamer is far superior to use.

I can now confirm that Sennheiser Sonite R are compatible with Rogerr iN devices. Costco hearing aid fitter called their Phonak rep and confirmed.
