Using the Smart Direct App on my Android Galaxy S8 plus. Cannot find any link to control loudness of each aid independently. Am I missing something ?.

Brian, I can’t be certain as my wife uses the Bernfon app but try swiping up and down on the left and right sides of the screen.

From looking at demo mode on my Signia app and from online, it looks like there’s a symbol (chain? as in locked?) in the right corner of the microphone volume section. Click on it and it will let you adjust separately. Click again and it will adjust together. Let me know if it works for you.

The volume control is coupled by default. Your Costco fitter needs to disable the coupling before you can adjust the hearing aids separately.

Not on my app. It´s in the Demo mode but not active one.

That would appear to make sense. Will get it unlocked on next Costco visit.

I had the same issue with Connexx, but my audiologist showed me that there were several downloads under the Android phone for Connexx. I tried a different one and voila, both aids could be controlled independently. One thing I have noticed with the Connexx app: sometimes it seems to stop controlling the aids. My solution was to delete the app and immediately install it again. No need to pair the aids again.

That’s interesting. This is a KS8 thread so I assume you have KS8’s. Did you first use the Connexx Smart Remote and then got the Smart Direct? And the Smart Remote worked with the KS8’s? Or am I missing something?

I forget the names. Both seem to work with the KS8s but one of them does not allow you to control volume independently. If I recall it also had fewer features, no cafe setting for example.

Smart Remote is the older app. Will work with KS7 and KS8. Smart Direct is newer app. Works with KS8 only and uses LE bluetooth. Smart Remote uses high frequency sounds.

Thanks MDB. I didn’t know the prior version worked with the KS8. So it uses high frequency too I guess.

I continue to have problems with Connexx Smart Direct (Android version) controlling my KS8 Hearing aids. I need to restart my S8+ serval times a day in order for it to start controlling again. I have emailed Silvantos many times without getting a response. Do any of the readers no of a different Android app for controlling my hearing aids. My understanding is that the Kirkland app works only on iPhone.

I think the Smart Remote will also work, but doesn’t offer as much control.

I don’t think it is designed to be in constant contact. I think the idea is to start it, do some adjustments, and either close it or let it disconnect.

I have had somewhat better results trying to start the app again, even though I know it is still loaded. It seems to recognize when it is not connected that way. You should be able to just re-start the app.

It would be nice if it would stay connected, not run down my phone, and act like a remote all day, but it’s not there yet. My guess is none of the brands are there yet.
