I need some recommendations and/or advice. I purchased custom ear modes because of my narrow ear canals the vent passage was really small and could not be adjusted, therefore, sounds quality was poor. I have returned to Costco for adjustments several time. People sound like they are in a hole. Out of frustration I purchased (OTC) Audien Atom Pro 2 in the canal aids. Before this purchase I could only understand about 50% of speech. With the Audien aids now 90+, however, due to my small ear canals I could not control feedback so I returned the Audien aids. My question - why can’t my Jabra Enhance Pro get to this level of speech recognition?
I have molds from Jabra, and when the left one is inserted as intended, I got an echo. That mold worked well when it wasn’t inserted quite as deep as intended, so I use that circumvention.
Last week I had a hearing test, and the audi (not HIS) wanted me to insert the receiver+mold correctly. I told her what the problem was, and she told me there was a fix for that - and she was right. The fix was shaving a bit of material off the mold.
My reco is to ask your Costco person to consult with colleagues and Jabra/ReSound for guidance and maybe try another Costco if possible and necessary.
And/or have molds re-cast after discussing the problem with the technician.
Resound was contacted regarding the small vent (they made the custom molds) but they said they could not make it larger due to the small ear canal.
Might be possible to put a slot vent into the outer face with a Dremel and a bit of skill.
