Take anything you read on the Internet with a huge amount of skepticism. Always try to go to the source. Which is this case, is either corporate or the store manager.
I go to Costco once a month, I’ll keep an eye on the situation.

I visited my local Costco near Syracuse, NY to schedule an appointment, but they were booking three months out. I had tried calling several times, but my calls went to voicemail.
In the meantime, I discovered that my insurance provided good coverage, so I chose a local audiologist who was able to see me within a few days.
Given that Costco is an hour away and appointments are booked so far in advance, I began to question the level of service—especially since they didn’t answer the phone.
On a positive note, the staff member I spoke with in-store was friendly and helpful.
Our Costco in Tennessee has 3 or 4 hearing specialists and i have had no problem being seen the same day when i have had a problem or question about the Rexton Reach HAs i have had for about a month.
I shop in my local Costco once or twice a week and most days the hearing aid department has a staff member manning the desk. I can usually get an appointment in one week.
I have 3 Costco stores all within 30 minutes. One is super crowded all the time and their appointments there are 6-8 weeks out. Never been there. Next one is not as busy. You can usually get an appointment in a few days max, but i didnt like either of the audi’s dismissive attitudes and they gave me a really hard time when they saw i did a minor adjustment using SmartFit (it creates a damn log of each “session”). So the 3rd one is a charm. The audi is great, really listens to my feedback and seems very experienced with SmartFit and Jabra’s. The appointments there are 1-2 weeks out max, sometimes same or next day. Both stores i went to have a seperate assistant that cleans and changes domes and wax guards as well as handles the register so its easy to stop in, drop off aids, go shop, and pick them up on the way out. I dont find they have gone downhill but they do vary store to store
Seems to me that buyers have choice: save a ton of money at Costco for top of the line HAs and deal with what you perceive to be less service than you deserve, buy on line with little service support, or paying more at a private practice.
I have 3 Costco’s in my general area, and the Audiology Dept Staff have been completely professional and nice. Such a general assumption made at a single location does a disservice to the brand. Perhaps a word with the Location Manager?
I’ve had pretty good customer service at my COSTCO.
Cosco, cisco, or Costco?
At Costco the service is generally pretty dependably good.
Going to a private practice does always guarantee you will get great service. We have had others post negative reviews.
Plus, I don’t know if my visit is representative of other days at my local Costco. It’s entirely possible that the person normally at the front desk was just temporarily gone for that period of time.
Cosco is a food wholesaler. Cisco is a high-tech electronics company. Credibility requires a basic effort at accuracy and proofreading.
I’m in the Costco has not changed camp. Your local service etc. may vary from time to time but it’s not a reflection of anything more troubling or nefarious. My two nearest Costco stores both have hearing centers and I can get a same or next week appointment at either. Everyone I’ve spoken with or was seen by was attentive, courteous, and professional.
One time I was shopping and ran in to my audi tech in an aisle. (She is also a fully licensed AuD.) It had been a couple months since my final fitting and she wanted to tell me the new testing equipment was available and to make an appointment. I did, the next week, and it helped. She remembered me (and my case history) out of the hundreds of clients, with no prompting. I’d call that good service.
So much Costco hate out there. Weird! Costco are the good guys.
Come on! You are over selling the hate comment.
