Cleaning and drying

I recommend to my patients to clean their hearing aids every day regardless of the style. You may find that wax comes off your devices more easily at the end of the day since it is still soft and warm. If you live in a humid area or tend to perspire easily, putting them in a dryer or a jar with desiccant can prolong the life of your devices. Your hearing aids should also be professionally cleaned every six months or as recommended by your audiologist.

Hi, my 2 BTEs are basic Oticon Spirit Synergy. These are standard NHS free issue in our area. There is no option to pay more for better ones
They seem Ok but I’d like some newer ones with Bluetooth.
The alternative is to go private. The decision is between free and ~£2,300
It may take me some time to decide!

NHS are handing out the Oticon Engage now which are the Oticon OPN 2 which are MFi.

I use an Oticon Streamer Pro that works with my NHS hearing aids to stream my phone call and TV via a streamer. They work well together.
It cost about £300 new or cheaper on Ebay same bluetooth function for a lot less.

However if you a due to have your NHS hearing aids replaced I would go with the Oticon Engage.
N.B. Oticon Engage don’t work with the Oticon Streamer Pro and you need a different TV Streamer so get the Oticon Engage first before before buying a TV Streamer.
