Changing receiver on Signia Styletto 5x

I replaced my Signia 5x recently with a more powerful one for my right ear. Now I want to use the Signia that was programmed/firmware for the right ear, for my left ear. I purchased a genuine receiver from Seimens for the left ear, and I do not hear any sound with it. Would the firmware cause this not to work ? If so, how does one update the firmware themselves to be left side, or is this proprietary? Warranty is expired. I heard Signia will “refurbish” a hearing aid for a flat fee of $300, but not sure if I voided that option or it is now too old a device. The firmware shows RIGHT 15.7.302.1. hardware version 1.0. Should this work regardless of switching the receiver?

Thank you for any guidance.

Ok let’s get this right, your talking about a replacement "receiver"not a replacement HA right? But yes if you replace with a different power level then you do need to “recalculate” (reprogram) that HA for the new receiver, but you’d still hear something, did you get the correct receiver “Signia” not Siemens which is obsolete and wouldn’t fit correctly to the 5X anyway,it’s nothing to do with firmware, for firmware you could update in the App.
