Can Oticon More Sound Booster be adjusted?

There’s a big difference between what Phonak does and Oticon does in terms of environment detection. The Phonak AutoSense determines what kind of environment you’re in, then switches to one of the programs that you have that is most suitable for that environment detected. Hence lots of people complain that sometimes it switches between programs too often for their liking.

The Oticon never ever switches between programs automatically like the Phonak does with AutoSense. Only YOU can decide then manually switch between programs yourself. Therefore there’s no automatic hunting and switching between programs like with the Phonak AutoSense which makes it very noticeable that can annoy people. And like that excerpt from the Oticon OSN whitepaper that I quoted in post 11 of this thread, the environment detection as designed by Oticon is continuous and not a distinct lockstep transition between one distinct environment like Simple and another distinct environment like Difficult. Those are only the 2 extreme ends, and the transition is continuous and smooth in a gradual fashion without any kind of mode switching. In fact, even if you see that in the screenshot below, although Genie 2 is showing 5 types of environments (very simple, simple, moderate, complex and very complex), that’s just a representation to let the user select and group which of the 5 are in the Difficult group and which of the rest are in the Easy group. But there are actually NO 5 distinct environment modes that the More/Real switches to. Again, to quote the excerpt I showed in post 11 above in this thread, “there are an infinite number of possible configurations of the system… this means that OSN does not have a mode switch with the potential audible artifacts that mode switches are know to cause.”

By the way, the Neural Noise Suppression values set for Easy and Difficult environments in the screenshot below are not discrete, but instead are just the max possible value you can select to cap it. But the actual amount applied can vary up to those max amounts.
