Bluetooth award to hearing aid guy

Not sure how interesting this is. The Bluetooth SIG voted an award for “Outstanding Technical Contributor of the Year” to a Sivantos engineer. Kanji Kerai “owns” the Isochronous Channel project at the Bluetooth SIG. Isochronous Channels might be the next big thing in audio over Bluetooth LE.

He is working within the core working group, but the fact that he is from a hearing aid company suggests to me that Bluetooth development for hearing aids may not be dead.

Anyway, for what it’s worth…

Hope it’s meaningful but I’ve worked for an organization or two that, no matter what, you had to have a nominee for Outstanding Employee of the Quarter, and if you didn’t encounter one, it wasn’t because something supercalifragilisticexpialidocious wasn’t going on that quarter, it was because you’d failed at your assigned job to be familiar with the accomplishments of the organization. So hopefully the Bluetooth SIG award represents something meaningful down the line, not just an award that has to be given.
