The main differences are usually lack of tinnitus support.
I believe, apart from the Kirkland aids, the manufacturer controls the branding. I know they changed from Bernafon to a different branding in an attempt to improve sales numbers.
There’s lots of misinformation on the forum about Costco hearing aids. It is not true that their hearing aids are several years old. I think different manufacturers handle things differently. Resound used to sell hearing aids to Costco with different names, but that were very similar to current Resound models. They changed that and came out with the Jabra brand which is sold outside Costco, but the Enhance Pro 10 is exclusive to Costco and seems very similar to Resound Omnia, Resound’s latest aid.
There have been reports that several Costco hearing aid models retain tinnitus features (available in the programming software) but Costco won’t deal with those features.
I think people would be a lot better off if they’d pay less attention to hearing aid models and put time and effort into working with their hearing aid provider. If one likes geeking out on this stuff (I plead guilty), fine, but if one just wants to hear, it is not necessary to become a hearing aid geek.
I think that is based on ild information. When they sold the KS6, vendors were introducing new flagship every year. The Kirkland aids then we’re last year’s flagship. The KS6 were Resound Linx. At that time there was already a newer model. In more recent times the models are current.
I wholeheartedly agree. After 20 years I hope I have found a skilled hearing professional I can trust. I know my test was the most thorough I have ever had.
I wholeheartedly agree with your wholehearted agreement!
I have been using various top of the line and lesser featured hearing aids. I also have had to use several different audiologists due to circumstances beyond my control. Until now I have not been able to get my hearing aids to work “just right”. I have found a new audiologist who maintains that all modern high quality hearing aids can be adjusted to work for you. I have to agree with him. He showed me that all my different aids work great once he made the adjustments. I recommend focusing on finding the right audiologist for you (may require a bit of trial and error and courage to change providers).
If they cannot dial them in, I’ll be returning my Pilips as well! So frustrating. I know the technology is capable
Welcome, @Ms_Beasley ! I hope you get your fitting sorted out!
