The reason for that isn’t the fragility of the magnet: it’s due to the milling out of your skull (to accommodate the battery and processor) and the inherent weakness by impact at the prominent part of the device.

Hi David,
I also play Judo and BJJ. My grandson just had his CI implant and we are waiting two weeks before we turn it on. I want him to enjoy Judo and BJJ, but I have some concerns. Can you email me as I want to ask you about your experience and what you found out about the risks of impact or compression to your CI.
