My wife and I pick up our Jabra Pro 30’s from Costco Friday and it would be great to get an Auracast transmitter that will work with both out hearing aids when watching TV.
I found that the Homespot BA210 works well with the Jabra EP 20. I also have a Moerlabs battery powered transceiver that did NOT work with the Jabra EP 20. Moellabs say they will have an update coming in May to make it compatible with hearing aids, but I’ve not seen it yet.
Update: I upgraded the MoerDuo to firmware 3.7.0 and set encoding to be 24 kbps and it now also works with the Jabra EP 20.
The Voyager works well. The only problem I had was I didn’t notice that the on/off switch has an auracast setting midway between on and off.
I want to be able to use my HAs (Jabra EP 30) for any device that will connect with headphones. The Voyager does this. My laptop has a 3.5mm audio out as well as a usb c option. The voyager works with both options if you use a usb c to 3.5mm dongle.
The two disadvantages of the voyager are that the broadcasts are not encrypted— though this may be fixed with a firmware update later— and that the dongle and Voyager are slightly cumbersome with my iPad.
I have both a Homespot BA210 v2 and the Moerlab TV hearMore and both transmit Auracast from my TV via Optical. I’m using a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and the Jabra Pro 20’s from Costco. Just needed to make sure the BA210 was version 2 (as described elsewhere) and that I had the latest firmware version for the TV hearMore (had to send my unit in to have the firmware updated as it was a very early (last September) version and make sure that I used their PC Tool software to change to the 24K sampling setting). They work without issue but sound quality is not great (quite tinny) on the Pro 20s but latency is okay. Be interested if the Pro 30s are any better in this regard. The sound quality is much better if I use my Galaxy Buds2 Pro’s…
I had the Jabra Pro 20 from Costco and just returned them and got the 30s. The sound of the 30s is also tinny, not different from the 20s. The Hear in Noise function is a little better.
I have both the BA210 and the MoerDuo transceiver. After upgrading the MoerDuo firmware to 3.7.0 and reducing the encoding to 24 kbps I was able to get the MoerDuo to connect to my Jabra EP 20 hearing aids. The sound it a bit tinny but that is due to the hearing aids, not the Auracast transmitters. I find that both the BA210 and the MoerDuo work well, but the BA210 seems to have slightly less delay. Even so, both are quite useable.
A nice thing about the MoerDuo is the built-in microphone and the battery power. This allows it to be used as a remote mic for the hearing aids. The MoerDuo also has a volume control on it, which is lacking on the BA210. You need to use a control app on the BA210 to reduce the gain. I found that without doing so, the gain was too high.
If the Auri installtion is intended to be permanent, can you share the name and location of your church so it can be added to the list at www.nht.name?
