Android 13 Beta/Hearing Aids

After downloading Android 13 Beta onto my GooglePixel 4a I’ve been getting all of my phone calls reliabily via bluetooth. I’m using Lively (Resound) hearing aids with the Pixel. This is something that I couldn’t do with Android 12. This is a big step forward…

Maybe Android for hearing aids is finally maturing.

Android 13 supports BT LE, so yeah.
Problem is, finding products to use it with.

the Pixel 4a does support ASHA, so you should be good to go.

@cvkemp I believe Oticon More is supposed to supprt the new Bluetooth SIG.
We in android land, may be closing in on the walled garden!

The More aids support MFI and ASHA, but the list of phones is small. There was a rumor early on that the More aids could be updated to support BTLE but I haven’t seen anything to back that up.

I can’t find the original Oticon blurb, but did come across this article in Discover Magazine:

I don’t know if that really means anything for the ones of us that have the More aids at this time.

One can only hope, but I’m sure I saw it direct on Oticon’s site.
May need a f/w update, not sure.

The specifications on the Oticon site used to say “Ready for LE Audio”. Not sure if it’s still there but I found that phrase in Oticon press releases that accompanied the release of the Mores. Would definitely need an update.
