ADMIN: Why is my IP BANNED?

#1

Hi ADMIN, it would seem that my IP is BANNED? Could you enlighten me as to why please? Don’t think I have said anything to offend anyone, maybe I have spoken a few home truths with regards to pricing policy’s etc’, but everyone is entitled to their opinion? I have had to resort to using a proxy server and thereby hiding my IP to get access to the site… Cheers Kev

Could just be your ISP generates a lot of spam.

Aye right UM Bongo…Pull the other one:D

The only way I can get on here is via a proxy server! Tried a few browsers, Chrome, Firefox, IE9, Safari etc’ none work apart from the different proxy servers I use… Can’t think of why my ISP (ADSL24) would have a lot of spammers, costs me a twice as much to run their office package than I could get with other UK based ISP’s!

Not a big issue though, I can still get on:D… Tis just a pain!

Why don’t you PM Admin, then. He’s the moderator, so he should be able to get an answer for you.

Ther’s no need to share your pain with us.

Seriously, it could be a ‘known’ spam IP.

It’s either that or your business selling replica watches and viagra isn’t as popular as you thought it was.

Why don’t you just but out Prodigyplace:rolleyes:… But thank you for the advice:p

Regards Kev;)

Hi Um bongo, as far as I’m aware this puter is squeaky clean, I have various security running, in fact very shortly I’m going to be using VPN and yes I’m well aware that spammers can use your IP using hide-IP etc’, I will send ADMIN a wee PM as Prodigyplace has suggested and hopefully that’s what has maybe happened here?

Cheers Kev:D

It may be that the forum owner uses a subscription services that provides IP addresses filter lists. I use one at work for incoming mail filtering and the subscription service occasionally black lists valid IP addresses.

Google your IP address and see if it pops up on any of the SPAM monitoring pages. Especially if you do not have a static IP address. May just need to renew the IP address on your modem to get off the blocked list. Unless the filter cover the entire block of IP’s used by your ISP.
